Man, OC ladies love their labels. As we trudged through the South Coast Plaza parking lot for a preview of the Decadestwo.1 popup at AnQi, we passed no fewer than five variations on the tried and trusted Louis Vuitton monogram bag (though we think the last one we saw, on the arm of a 45-year old woman wearing a ruffled denim micro-miniskirt, blouse tied at the midriff, and 5" heels, might have been a fake). Christos Garkinos and company packed accordingly: for their residency at the bistro, they brought down some of the big guns: shoes from YSL and Alexander McQueen, a gorgeous champagne satin Burberry trench, Chanel boucle jackets, that iconic Valentino rose bag, high profile and off-the-runway dresses from Prada and Lanvin, and actual fur coats.
The popup is nestled inside the shiny Asian-themed resto; they've taken over a generously sized room and made it as posh (almost) as the Melrose location. Only they've gone one better: there's a bar in the room! The popup is officially open to the public on Saturday; it's well worth shopping.
