Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
When we were in grade school, Jansport backpacks were the thing to have. And we had to have a new one each year, even though they were definitely durable enough to last us for several. But just because we're adults doesn't mean we have to give up those reliable carry-alls. The company has taken its own designs dating back to the 60s and partnered up with Barneys to create a preppy blue-and-gray plaid holiday collection. The four looks will be available at the notable department store as well as both companies' websites. Price points range from $75 to $350. Our only question is: What can we buy next year?
