As a media person, one occasionally gets the feeling that the designers at the meet-and-greets would probably rather be at home brushing their teeth with Brillo pads than shlepping around talking to journos and getting fawned over by the unwashed masses.

We would hardly have been able to blame Rag & Bone's Marcus Wainwright and David Neville if they acted like that at their SaMoPlace Nordstrom meet and greet last week-- after all, they're almost universally, unanimously loved by the fashion press, celebs, influential people, and regular customers. But instead, they were two of the nicest guys we've ever met. Not just to us, but to the mega-excited fans who showed up and the Nordie's staff. They really like people. Which is probably why they makes such awesome, wearable clothing.

The original invite said the duo would pick ten lucky audience members to style and shoot, but basically, they were hobnobbing and posing for pictures with anyone who asked. It was, in fact, sort of like Prom. Except instead of yards of tulle, taffeta and organza, all the ladies got dolled up in Rag & Bone's fall pieces: layered knits, the famous leggings, dresses that were both hardy and playful, and of course, the shoes. So utterly charmed by the down-to-earth designers was one Racked staffer that she bought a pair on the spot. Of course the fact that the boots are sexy as hell didn't hurt, either.
