Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Just in time for weekend shopping, we're giving you a peek at the things on our shopping lists. We've pounded the pavement and scoured the Web for unique takes on key fall pieces, one-of-a-kind vintage finds, and stuff that's just heart-breakingly, wallet-bustingly awesome. However, we don't recommend combining all these pieces in the same outfit: the results would be heinous.
The Floaty Fall Frock
We think it’s safe to say that we’re completely obsessed with Queen's Wardrobe, since the store is chock full of unique and stunning pieces, like this flirty and feminine chiffon pleated dress. The copper color is perfect for the fall months, and it's so versatile -- it looks great belted, with both heels and flats, with a cardigan. Or barefoot in your backyard as you sip tea and eat crumpets (at least that's how we picture ourselves wearing it). Available for cheap at Queen's Wardrobe.
The Slouchy Bag
We love that this Charlotte Vasberg bag is slouchy and relaxed but has nice architectural details. An adjustable strap and plenty of pockets means it's as functional as a mom-bag but doesn't come close to looking like one. Best of both worlds on all possible levels. What's not to love? Available La Garconne.
Modern Take on the Classic Bootie
These Via Spiga boots are so simple and elegant, they'll practically work with any outfit. Plus, growing up one of those fashion kids that embraced the whole socks-with-heels concept, we'd totally wear these with some cute colored legwear. Available at Bloomingdale's.
The Gorilla Army Jacket
In our book, Loeffler Randall is one of those brands that can do no wrong. Our favorite pieces from them tend to be smart and utilitarian, like the iconic wedge boots. We're not saying this coat is the most inspired or beautiful piece ever, but we have been obsessed with it. We dig the marriage of two of fall's big trends: military and fur. It's got an intriguing cut, that feminine ribbon around the waist?if it wasn't for the fact that it vaguely makes us think it's something you'd wear to a winter version of Burning Man, we'd snatch this thing up right quick. Available online at Loeffler Randall.
