Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
In a match that was pretty much destined to happen, Feature Boutique and Footcandy joined forces to create a one-stop shop. The two stores are almost neighbors on San Vicente in Brentwood, one a master of accessories and one a master of basic layering pieces. And last week, Feature rolled two racks of its coveted tanks, tees, pants and dresses down to Footcandy. (Well okay, maybe the move went down in a more civilized and orderly fashion.)
Walk in the front door and you'll immediately find Alexander Wang tanks for $78 and tees for $94, a Vena Cava blazer for $539, LnA lace tanks for $95 and tees for $102, 18th Amendment jeans for $130, plus assorted pieces from Under.ligne by Doo.ri, Geren Ford and Paul & Joe. Stroll to the back of the store and check out the selection of Loubs, Oliver Peoples sunglasses, and generously stocked shoe sale rack. Right now the Feature racks are full of fall pieces that don't seem to be marked down, but they are expecting to start getting in shipments of new spring clothes in a week or two. So when the sun comes out and the flooding subsides, it will be time to start spring spending.
