Jill Garland's V Vintage outgrew its original space, thanks to her addition of a beautiful array of dresses and blouses from the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg, YSL, Sonia Rykiel and Pauline Trigere. She took over a space in the same complex: it's downstairs, tucked away near the end of the halcyon, very European courtyard. We decided to pay her a visit and inspect all the finery.
It's pretty magnificent. The collection isn't big (yet), but every single piece is a winner. All in flawless condition. Unlike some vintage, which can look a bit costumey or like a relic from a very specific era, most of these pieces feel contemporary, but classic. She's even added a few blouses that she designed and created with gorgeous vintage fabric.
Garland's collection of jewelry and bags hasn't gone anywhere—in fact, there's room for that to grow, too. Her empire will soon be expanding into the digital realm: she's fine-tuning her site for e-commerce, so you'll soon be able to purchase these lustables from the comfort of your own home. (Though we gotta say, you'll have way more fun shopping the store, in person.) V Vintage is open Monday through Friday, 11am to 3pm; weekdays after 3pm and weekends by appointment only.
