A New York State of Mind

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Style.com caught up with LA-based designer Kimberly Ovitz, to finally settle the question of will-she-or-won't-she show at New York Fashion Week this season. Turns out that Ovitz will, in fact, be presenting her Spring 2010 collection at Milk Studios a week from Wednesday, a last-minute decision that will mark her first presentation in the city (last season, she held a trunk show at Satine in LA). And what can we expect to see on the 16th? She tells the blog: “This season is a lot more fluid, with more wrapped silhouettes...And I’m adding color for the first time, but I don’t want to talk about that yet.” We understand—it's a big jump for all of us.
