Collabs: LV Does Doggy Cases, Creepy Surgery Trunk

Louis Vuitton is getting a new designer, well, six new designers, and not really. Along with Marc Jacobs and Patrick-Louis Vuitton, the label got Annie Leibovitz, artist Damien Hirst, legendary Spanish chef Ferran Adrià, and composer Gustavo Santaolalla to design some special-order leather goods to be auctioned at Sotheby's for the Red Cross' 150th anniversary.

For the most part, WWD reports that the designers requested items that fit the unique needs of their day-to-day lives. Of course, some needs are more unique than others, like how Hirst required an enormous black trunk with blue microfiber-lined drawers for surgical instruments.

Leibovitz doesn't like purses, so she requested a backpack that could hold her photography equipment. Adrià's project is rolling luggage for traveling with his knives, spatulas, chef coats, and whatever else chefs travel with. Santaolalla ordered a case for his roncoco, which is a stringed instrument. (That one is sure to be popular with all those roncoco players out there.)

Vuitton designed a case for watercolor painting equipment. And Marc Jacobs requested a Louis Vuitton doggy case for when he travels with his bull terriers, Daisy and Alfred.
