Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

WWD spoke with several more LA-area retailers to find out what impact the Station Fire is having on their business. M. Frederic's Fred Levine reported that "it's tougher than ever now," while Kitson founder Fraser Ross stated that the intense heat causes people to stay indoors and "scares off tourists". Madison's Mark Goldstein reported that sales last weekend were "soft", yet he remains optimistic, noting “We’ve been through the [Hollywood] writers’ strike and all sorts of things....We are used to living through a lot of negative stuff.” As for Glendale's Americana at Brand, which is one of the closest malls to the blaze? Officials are hoping for an uptick in traffic over the next few days, "because people use the centers to escape." [WWD, sub. required]
