New York Fashion Week: Yigal Azrouël

Our friends over at Racked NY are currently in the thick of New York Fashion Week, and we'll be posting some highlights of their coverage. This time around: Tough, drapey looks from Yigal Azrouël.

Show Location:Bryant Park, The Promenade
The skinny: The French-Moroccan/Israeli designer Yigal Azrouel is known just as much for his sex appeal as for his equally downtown looks.
Celebs spotted: Emmanuelle Chriqui, Miss Jay
The takeaway: Clothing almost as sexy as Yigal himself, we saw more body-con dresses looking like were wrapped with fabric, some blatantly Herve-inspired. Not to mention a huge resurgence of the strong-shouldered boyfriend blazer look, open-toe black ankle booties, and the occasional harem pant. Overall, very wearable and on-trend. We like.

11:10am: There's a woman heading into Yigal wearing the Christian Siriano for Payless green pumps.

11:11am: This is the pregnant woman show. Have seen two with big bellies and one with a very new baby in a sling.

11:20am: Most popular purses being carried at Yigal by guests: Chanel and Anya Hindmarch.

11:30am: No flashbulbs for celebs means no celebs. Guess they learned their lesson after last season's Ashley Dupré fiasco.

11:32am: Starting! Plastic off the runway.

11:34am: Lots of black and grey. Kinda Wangy.

11:36am: Very thing grey jersey. Jailbird stripes on men.

11:38am: Very greasy wet hair on models.

11:41am: Strong shoulders and open toe black ankle boots are soooo sticking around for awhile.

11:42am Very worn, frayed bags being shown for men.

11:44am: Miss J is right across from me in the front row. Emmanuelle Chriqui from Entourage is also here, apparently.

11:46am: Body con dresses JUST like at BCBG.
