The treacherous Station Fire has had an unexpected impact—an uptick in shoppers at a local mall. WWD reports "there were close to double-digit traffic increases over the previous weekend" at Arcadia's Westfield Santa Anita mall, "most likely because of people seeking air-conditioned refuge from the triple-digit temperatures and smoky air." There are three other malls located in the vicinity of the blaze, which is burning out of control just north of Los Angeles—the Glendale Galleria, Glendale's Americana at Brand, and the Paseo Colorado mall in Pasadena. It's unclear how these locations have been affected by the fire, but WWD reports they all remained open on Monday. [WWD, sub. required]
