Storecasting: Gap Celebrates 40th Anniversary With Robertson Pop-Up

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Yesterday, we spotted workmen buzzing around the former Robert Clergerie space on Robertson Boulevard, with signage suggesting the new boutique might have to do with Gap's 1969 denim line (a premium range that relaunched earlier this year). And, this morning, California Apparel News confirms our suspicions, having learned from the shop's landlord that a pop-up denim bar is set to launch on or around August 6, where it will remain for about two months. Neither Racked or CAN have received a response from Gap regarding the specifics of the shop, but seeing as the brand celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we have a feeling it'll attract plenty of attention in the weeks to come.
