Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
MELROSE AVE: Pink-tressed accessories maven Tarina Tarantino has a pretty cult-like following here in LA, so we imagine her boutique (7957 Melrose Ave) will be something of a madhouse when she stops in on Saturday (August 29). She'll be visiting in honor of her new-ish Wizard of Oz-inspired collection, dubbed "My Pretty", and a book that's been published to accompany it. Her appearance will last from 2pm-4pm, but the store will be partying from 12pm-5pm, with "sparkling refreshments", gifts-with-purchase, and up to 20% off select items. [RackedWire]
SANTA MONICA: Meanwhile, on the Westside, designer emporium B.NY (2449 Main Street) will be hosting a trunk show dedicated to the full range of +Beryll accessories—from sunglasses and jewelry to bags and boots. Founder Sigmar Berg's LA streetscape photography will also be on show, and the store's taking 10% off fall arrivals for those five hours only (designers include Alexander Wang, Kimberly Ovitz and Limi Feu). The fun will take place on Saturday between 1pm and 6pm—perfect timing for beachgoers to take a break from the sun. [RackedWire]
