The Monocle Shop in Brentwood has a new addition—the brand has collaborated with British handbag maker Bill Amberg on a set of canvas-and-leather tote bags, which come with a stencil for DIY monogramming. In other Monocle news, founder Tyler Brûlé spoke with the UK's Independent newspaper, where he expounded on his entry into the retail realm. "I’d thought it would be lovely to have a little shop somewhere someday," he says, adding "but I didn’t think then it was a realistic idea or that it would be a profitable one." Clearly, the results have exceeded expectations—since opening the LA store in April, a new location has debuted in Palma de Mallorca and three more have been slated for Toronto, Seoul, and Hong Kong.
