We stopped by the Kimberly Ovitz sample sale yesterday afternoon, to find about six rolling racks of merch holding court in the parking lot of the designer's Santa Monica studio. Most prevalent were oversized tees and silky tops (priced from around $45), jackets and pants (around $99), and several styles of the designer's simple, sexy black dresses (ranging from $80-$200). There were also a handful of one-off samples from $10, and about a quarter-rack of vintage pieces by Rick Owens, Ralph Lauren and Geoffrey Beene from around $350-$1,000. And although everything on offer was technically for women, there were plenty of guys trying on her voluminous, monochromatic v-neck sweaters and cardigans. The sale is scheduled to continue from noon to 7pm today. [RackedWire; Dealfeed]
