A commenter alerts us to a lawsuit that was settled Monday between Kitson and Glendale mall Americana at Brand. According to California Apparel News, Kitson owes the shopping center nearly $400,000 in unpaid rent for its two level space. But that doesn't mean the shop is ready to pack up and leave for good. Kitson attorney Glenn J. Feldman tells the paper, "[The store] will be retained in Glendale but in a different format...It will not be an anchor.”
Meanwhile, CAN also updates us on a suit filed by the landlord of Kitson Kids on Robertson, which we posted about last month. This one is also over non-payment of rent, to the tune of $74,000, and is "days away from being resolved," according to Feldman. Factor in all of the (presumably costly) expansion the brand's undertaking at the moment, owner Fraser Ross better hope that buyer he's been looking for materializes sometime soon.
