Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We've received word from Abramson Teiger Architects that the ground breaking for their West 3rd Street City View project occurred yesterday afternoon. The new complex, which will take over the 8231-8243 block where Ethel and Flight 001 used to be, is said to include "2 levels of above ground parking over ground floor retail space," and the rendering they attached to their e-mail (above) looks significantly different than the one Racked published when the project was first announced last year. If all goes as planned, it should be complete next year.
