Cocktail dresses and pearls are the Westside's answer to peanut butter and chocolate, so it's not surprising that Kevan Hall and Mikimoto are bringing the two wardrobe treats together this month. For four days only, the LA-based red carpet designer and purveyor of fine pearls will be taking over a space in the new Malibu Lumber Yard, each providing a twist on the local lifestyle. For Hall, that means punching up sundresses with "sherbet hues", while Mikimoto will showcase long strands of pearls dotted with diamond-encrusted starfish. The beachiness will ensue on Thursday, June 18 and will run through the 21st, but a press release refers the shop as "here today, somewhere else tomorrow"—inspiring visions of Hall hopping in a yacht with his glamorous bounty and sailing to other chi-chi spots up and down the coast.
