Beverly Hills resident Amy Wong Micucci has been named the winner of BRIDES magazine's Operation Dream Dress design contest. Her simple gown—an ivory column with a champagne sash—took both the public vote and that of a judging panel that included model Hilary Rhoda, Project Runway alum Austin Scarlett, and BRIDES Fashion Director Rachel Leonard. Micucci, who has worked in buying and merchandising for the past decade, walked away with both a $10,000 prize and a contract to have her design sold in David's Bridal stores across the land. This should stand her in good stead when the bridesmaid dress line she's been working on, Swoon, debuts in Spring 2010. [Racked Inbox]
