What would Lacoste be without its trusty alligator? Probably not quite so iconic, which is we were pleased to hear that it was the first brand to sign on to a new initiative called "Save Your Logo". The project calls on companies to help conserve the plants and animals that have made them famous, from Lacoste and its gator to French financial company MAAF, which will be championing the dolphin's cause.

According to the project's website, Lacoste will be "actively supporting" projects chosen by the Global Environment Facility to help preserve alligators, crocodiles, and their lesser-known family members. As the initiative develops, multimedia platforms will be launched to give updates on the animals that have been saved thanks to the companies' efforts. We think this is a pretty smart idea— Klondike Bar, are you listening? The polar bears need you.
