Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

For the next few months, prepare to turn web-ward for your wetsuit travel bags and rugby-striped passport holders—Flight 001, that one-stop repository for all things travel, shut its LA doors yesterday. A staffer explained that they're "going on hiatus" while they seek out a new location, preferably not far from their current West 3rd Street address. As Racked reported last year, the entire block on which the shop is situated will be torn down this month and transformed into a boxy retail / office complex (which, as Tasha at Blackburn & Sweetzer noted a few weeks ago, has been downgraded from three stories to one with rooftop parking). The shop is expected to re-open in a new location in time for the holidays.
