Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The oft-dreary Downtown sample sale is about to get an image makeover thanks to LoftSEVEN, a multi-tasking event space that's launching a monthly sale series this Sunday. In the vein of Jenn Ripley's Archive Agency, which we profiled back in March, the LoftSEVEN events are tipped to be just as much about the socializing as the shopping—open bar, DJs, sexy rooftop views and all.

"We really want to bring people's attention to the Downtown LA community," says the event's organizer, Ivan Navarro, adding that the loft's wide open spaces and natural light are a notable upgrade from the cramped, gloomy environs of a typical Downtown warehouse sale. Plus, he managed to enlist 15 of LA's most coveted young designers for the first round, including Anzevino and Florence, Spindle & Canister, and Gen Art menswear honoree Wayne Hadley. The sales will be held on the second Sunday of every month, starting this weekend— doors open at 11am, perfectly timed for that first post-brunch Bloody Mary. To RSVP, email the LoftSEVEN crew at AP Consulting.
