The Met Costume Institute Gala in New York is a major fashion event every year, but this year the party celebrated an exhibit called "The Model as Muse," meaning the scene was jam-packed with the tall and genetically blessed. Herewith, the best of the morning-after coverage:
· Drama! Azzedine Alaïa wasn't invited, so he pulled his dresses [On the Runway]
· Constantly running into supermodels at the party was "startling, and dwarfing" [NYT]
· A dignified, non-judgmental overview of the clothes [NYT]
· Andre Leon Talley's ubiquitous Obama pin, and 74 other outfits [The Cut]
· A slideshow of the best-dressed (everyone seems to love Kate Moss's toga) [HuffPo]
· ...and the worst (Leighton Meester and Madonna looked particularly batty) [Huffpo]
· ...and a round-up of the women, including Rihanna, who wore tuxes [HuffPo]
· ...and a round-up of the men's outfits (JT's glasses: Do we like?) [HuffPo]
· Or, if you're feeling opinionated, head straight to FabSugar's polls [FabSugar]
