Boutiques are trying a new way to attract male shoppers: Free booze. "By offering in-store drinks, a growing number of retailers are trying to get men to shop more like women, who often linger and browse, buy items on impulse, and return time and again to a favorite store," explains the Wall Street Journal. Then, rather hilariously, they quote a guy who swears his decision to special-order a $200 pair of Earnest Sewn jeans at a DC store had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he'd just had a beer. In LA, you can get in on the drinking-while-shopping action at Lisa Klein Men, which offers free gin and tonics. [WSJ]
