Opening Ceremony's second floor mini-mall may have lost Jane Mayle, but it's gained an equally covetable tenant: Alexander Wang. The designer's first US shop-in-shop has just opened in Mayle's old space, boasting the most comprehensive collection of his wares in all of LA.
The sleek, yet elegant nook offers the designer's entire ready-to-wear and T by Alexander Wang collections, plus bags, shoes, books, and eventually jewelry, when it debuts in the fall. As if this weren't enough Wang wonderment, the boutique will also carry exclusive, limited-edition merchandise starting in fall, which a staffer says will involve "fur and exotic skins". A distressed leather ottomon, furry chair and animal skin rug lend a down-home feel to the goods' sharp-edged modernity—touches exuberantly approved by Wang himself, who was on hand for the space's setup early this week
