It may have been stricken with delays and false starts, but after paying a visit to Chloé's new Melrose Place flagship, which opened last Friday, we're happy to report the results are well worth the wait. Although this is the brand's fifth standalone store in the US, it's the first to unveil a brighter, more modern design concept that will roll out in other new stores going forward.

This boutique, in particular, is separated into two distinct spaces, one for accessories and one for apparel. A French-style courtyard filled with hydrangeas, jasmine and lavender connects the two—a space designed for clients to rejuvenate between buying their suede gladiators and silk harem pants. As for those new design elements we mentioned? Chloé's signature rose-tinted brass and marble fixtures and white Italian leather sofas have remained, but in place of natural wood paneling, the walls are made from a bright white, 3-D woodgrain effect material. Generous skylights have also been introduced for the first time to flood the spaces with bright, natural light, giving an overall effect that's futuristic, organic, and serene all at the same time.

The accessories shop houses everything from classic Chloé staples like the Paddington bag to the season's next big 'It' accessories—think the structured, chain-handled Sally bag or above-the-knee boots in earthy tones of olive green and rosy tan. Over in the ready-to-wear space, the brand's shimmering, desert-hued summer collection has taken up residence downstairs, while upstairs houses pieces from the spring line, including scallop-edged coats, impressionistic animal print shorts, and crisp, navy striped linen shift dresses. With a celeb-heavy launch party planned for the end of April, it's safe to say that Melrose Place's most talked-about new addition won't be commanding any less attention in the weeks to come.
