American Apparel's relationship with nubile half-naked hipsters being what it is, the company has always been supportive of gay magazine BUTT. (Listen, AA might be pervy, but they don't discriminate!) So when young Mexico City fashion photographer Quetzal passed away this fall under unknown circumstances, the company took to the back page of BUTT to honor him. They ran a big photo of Quetzal in short-shorts over copy that reads, in part, "We know he would have loved to be in BUTT magazine. He will be well remembered." We're not sure quite what to make of this—life-affirmingly irreverent tribute, or totally inappropriate stunt? Thoughts? [Transracial]
