The Skinny: For their fourth season, the Idol Radec boys channeled legendary adventurer Sir Edmund Hillary, adding an outdoors-y twist to their preppy brand of menswear. Think slim-fitting moleskin trousers, a rubberized cotton trench, and a hardy wool motorcycle jacket.
The Takeaway: Although the brand is based in Orange County, this collection, in particular, owes more to Nantucket than Newport Beach. But according to Nick Thomas, who co-designs the line with Scott Barclay and David Hickman, West Coast references are there if you look hard enough. "We always refer to old pictures from Hollywood, Palm Springs and Tahoe," he explains, pointing to a multi-pocketed tuxedo jacket as proof. "Although the line does have a lot of East Coast influence, we try to California-ize the dressier pieces so men have more options than just jeans and t-shirts." Hey, it sure beats Ed Hardy.
