Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Trust us, you don't want to face this parking lot unless you really have to

There are a lot of good reasons to drive out to the Santa Monica airport sometime in the next two weeks. The three items below aren't among them. If you're looking for any of the things in this list, the Barneys Warehouse Sale can't help you.

Forget about:
1.) Handbags. Gone within the first five minutes of the sale (not counting a huge shelving unit filled with canvas beach bags)

2.) Women's contemporary. This was a war zone towards the end, and we didn't see anything that really stuck out.

3.) Home furnishings—unless you're in the market for a sequin-encrusted Christmas stocking or some mismatched plate chargers.
