J. Crew's little sister, Madewell, is preparing to open its second LA store on March 10, at Glendale's Americana at Brand. For those who haven't been to the existing Century City outpost, Madewell offers a scruffed-up take on J Crew staples—its chinos are ripped at the knee, its jeans are skinnier, its tees more worn in and its cardigans slouchier. According to WWD, the company looks for retail spaces that " that capture the historic aura of the label." We're not quite sure how that translates to the year-old Americana and the Century City mall, but for a solid pair of jeans under $100, they can fake it all they want.
