Did you hear about the party at Melrose/Melrose Place? It was too nice a night to stay indoors, so we wandered the streets, looking for retail diversion. This is what we found:
We went to Alexander McQueen, wondering what constitutes a sale, in their eyes. 40% off, which is respectable, as a percentage. But 40% off crazy-expensive is still pretty expensive. Like the black and red dress for $3,600, or the skull-print graphic tees for $165.
There is a little "warehouse sale" type place that took over the old Mulberry space at 8407 Melrose Place. Lots of good buys, including Robert Rodriguez ruffley tanks for $57, Black Halo skirts for $110, a few random Nanette Lepore pieces, and other goodies.
Marc by Marc Jacobs is having a 30% off shoe sale. If memory serves correct, the percentage keeps going up and up and within the next few weeks, you should be able to score shoes for 90% off. (At least this is what we remember from two and three years ago).
Victoria Beckham has a tail! Not an actual one, but someone at a store said she'd been photographed carrying the Louis Vuitton bags that sport the extra appendage.
