Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It must be true what they say about NY, that it toughens you up: Our East Coast colleagues featured all the sketches from Lindsay Lohan's 6126 extension, while the very thought of it made us queasy. But what we want to know is this: What kind of a world do we live in where La Lohan's line of pole-dancer-inspired leggings and lycra can go for $100 - $600 while the actually age-appropriate, (marginally) cute but totally wearable line from Miley Cyrus and Max Azria—two of the most bankable names in their respective fields—goes for 1/10th of that? It's at least giving us some solace that the 6126 leggings presently on Gilt aren't moving?whoops, dang! The infamous knee-patch leggings have sold out! Oh, the humanity! [Racked NY, Gilt]
