A different kind of flip-flop at Saks

We have mixed feelings about the fact that Saks is currently serving up a deep discount online. On the one hand, it's a sale. Yay! On the other hand, it contradicts earlier reports about Saks' 2009 discounting philosophy, which makes us slightly nervous about the economy. Still, it's a tempting sale. But with the holiday season right around the corner, many will probably wait out this sale, hoping for something bigger—which probably isn't good for anybody. We're going to be patriotic and buy something right now. [Saks]
