Choo Infusion at H&M Beverly Center?

As of late Thursday afternoon, this is what the shoe inventory at the Beverly Center H&M looked like. Lotsa boxes; possibly more in the back

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

How bummed would you be if you'd waited in line for 12 hours to purchase your H&M Jimmy Choos, and some shmuck stumbled into the same store five days later and walked out with your goods?

We've read stories about the H&Ms in NY getting a restock today, so we were curious to see if LA stores would, too. We were in the neighborhood, and we decided to revisit the scene of the crime. (More out of insatiable curiosity than obsession.) Granted, H&M did not have everything. No clutches, and there was no sign of the black leather fringe dress or the sequined racerback top. But there was a decent surplus of shoes. Minus the thigh-high boot, the blue caged heel, the suede bootie, and the black studded caged heel.

We talked to a few salespeople who told us that they were getting an awful lot of returns. Which totally makes sense: How can anything measure up to months and months of feverish hype?
