Hipsters headed to Echoplex for local, indie music now have a place to buy local, indie apparel. Two new shops—Front St and Them Atelier—opened at the infamous intersection of Sunset and Glendale Blvd after renovating "an old mattress store painted like a fiesta inside" into two sterile, hospital-white interiors. Inside Front St, owned by Endovanera founder David Hershberger, you'll find his lower-priced alternative line, Norwick, as well as pieces from local designers Scout, Himiku and Dawn Sharp. Meanwhile, Them Atelier focuses on denim with ready-to-wear and custom made options. The denim designs are as minimal as the store's decor, but prices start at $75. Which ought to keep your jeans skinnier than your wallet.
