Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Racked editor emeritus Tasha Adams has it that RVCA will soon take over the old SLB space at 501 North Fairfax Avenue. "The Hundreds was thinking about taking the space (which is considerably bigger than its tiny space on Rosewood), but RVCA swooped in with the better offer," she writes. RVCA seems to be blowing up ever since onetime Alexander Wang muse Erin Wasson designed one of their collections, and this new store seems like further evidence that their trademark grunge look will soon go mainstream—that and the fact that Katie Holmes was recently photographed wandering around in denim shorts over tights.
