Hangover Observations: Apt3 Pops Up at The Roosevelt's Tropicana Bar

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It was perfect weather for an outdoor pop-up on Wednesday night where Apt3 held a shindig at the Tropicana Bar at the Roosevelt. DJ Kid-Oh spun while guests shopped the back bungalow filled with hand-picked vintage, including a sheer black floral tunic by Mel & KK for $58 that we couldn't keep our eyes off of.

We caught up with owner Kristen Knauff to find out about their recent storefront shutter on Industrial Street. Was it economy? Did the lease run out? Crappy location? "We gave downtown a try." she said, nodding politely. But she's expecting good things from their new location on Hollywood and Vermont, opening in two weeks. A rep from Apt 3 also mentioned that Dress Right, a monthly fashion show coordinated with La Cita's Dance Right, will resume in February as well. In the meantime, their eBay store is still up and running, so check it out.
