Is Isthithmar, the Dubai-based owner of Barneys, thinking of selling the company? Istithmar bought the department store brand less than two years ago, but that was before the economy tanked. We're not sure whether it would change the experience of the average shopper if Barneys changed hands, but this does seem like further evidence against the idea that Dubai would save the luxury market.
