[Melancholy photo of a Circuit City that is obviously not in LA via F33/Flickr]
When Circuit City announced that it was closing its stores, certain parties responded with glee. But the Glendale News Press points out another perspective: That of the 34,000 Circuit City employees who are about to become jobless. The article is less depressing than it sounds, though. Workers told the paper that the company had warned them it might fold way back in November, giving them time to make back-up plans. We've read so much about stores disappearing abruptly and screwing their workers in the process (ahem, Kira Plastinina) that this actually seems like a belated point in the City's favor.
