Northern California designer Robindira Unsworth was in town this weekend to show her new summer collection downtown at the New Mart. The gold vermeil and oxidized silvers are infused with Eastern motifs inspired by Notre Dame cathedral and Byzantine architecture. Her words of wisdom pendants, particularly the "soar" necklace, were partially inspired by Unworth's father, an independent filmmaker. "'Soar' is totally my dad. He's always told me, 'Your path is towards your fear.'" she said.
The collection is modestly priced in the $200 range, so most of her pieces are an attainable splurge. You can check them out at Bloomingdales, Fred Segal on Melrose, and Margaret O'Leary in Santa Monica, and the collection web site will be launching in the next few weeks.
