Plaid paradise Steven Alan came one step closer to LA domination on Saturday with the debut of its first West Coast outlet. Officially dubbed Steven Alan Outpost, the Los Feliz shop boasts an impressive selection of merch from 30-70% off, most of it as recent as last season.

Everything you'd find at Steven Alan proper is represented, from those infamous own-brand button-downs to Timex watches, APC boots and Araks undies—a steal at $29 a pair. A steady stream of shoppers were browsing the racks during our visit, with staff confirming they'd had a "really great response from the neighborhood" all day. We guess that proves even in a down economy, there's such thing as a safe retail bet.—Erin Magner
