They certainly haven't lacked for press here or elsewhere, but today's profile of Echo Park's new Mohawk General Store and La Brea rookie The Reformation in JC Report is a nice read about what it's like to open a new boutique—and shop!—in recessionary times. Says one of the partners behind The Reformation, "There has definitely been a shift in the way people are shopping due to the economic situation and a new era of intelligent consumers... I see so much mixing of high and low, which I think is great because it creates a demand for all kinds of boutiques and gives us all room to flourish." Er, one hopes! [JC Report]
