Chi Chi LaRue's, a new upscale adult boutique, has opened at 8932 Santa Monica Boulevard (east of Robertson), site of the former Drake's porn store. Named for and operated by the tranny porn director, the store opened in late December; a recent visit revealed a very inviting atmosphere: bright lighting, lots of gentle colors (there's a giant pink ottoman that wouldn't look out of place at Forever 21), video screens with adult fare, and a friendly cashier of indiscriminate gender. A friend--we swear!--found a petite peach pleaser for $15.95. Lots of videos too, and we spotted a riding crop. [Chi Chi LaRue's to Open: AVN]
