If these windows at Nordstrom at The Grove changed after Michelle Obama's turn in Thakoon at the DNC, it seems highly unlikely that it's coincidence the retailer would feature a similarly floral printed sheath dress by the designer. Inside, there's but a small rack of Thakoon in the Collectors section. The section was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and there was no staff in sight to ask if the limited stock was simply what they'd bought or if there'd been a post-DNC Thakoon demand.
Over in the new-ish Via C, which essentially bridges the Savvy and Collectors sections in terms of designers and price point, it was slightly livelier with a few shoppers mingling. The four-month-old section carries labels such as Milly, Hanii Y, Tory Burch, 3.1 Phillip Lim, See by Chloe, Loeffler Randall, and Twenty8Twelve. Westfield Topanga, with its new schmancy wing, upstages at Nordstrom as well, which features a Couture section, in addition to Savvy, Via C, and Collectors. [RackedWire]
