Think Wilshire and Vermont during your average midday traffic. Now, think Wilshire and Vermont with a mega mall smack dab in the middle! Local developer Jerry Snyder is working on erecting a seven-story vertical mall across the street from the mixed-use Wilshire Vermont Station, per the LAT via Curbed, which notes that it was originally slated for another mixed-use project. The city is evaluating whether to allow Snyder to drop the previous housing plans, as "some transit-oriented developments have suffered because there has been only housing and no shops or job centers nearby, and [Planning Director Gail] Goldberg allowed that retail might be important for the site." Elkus/Manfredi, the project architect on board, has a portfolio which includes The Grove, Americana at Brand and the shops at Time Warner Center in NYC. The interior rendering is after the jump and it is massive.
