Storecasting: Jin Patisserie Century City

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

A mainstay for confections on Abbot Kinney, Jin Patisserie is opening an outpost at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City "any day now," per Juli B: "tucked into the intercontinental hotel, shadow display boxes showcase award-winning pastry chef kristy choo's jewel-like truffles and cakes." (Juli B's non-capitalization, not ours.) If it's just like Jin in Venice, then there will be seating for a proper tea with scones and treats, as well as divine boxed truffles, cakes, cookies and more, made with intriguing ingredients—lavender, macha, all kinds of spice—to take home.
