More exciting Santa Monica retail news. DWR has set a date for the opening of its new Tools for Living section for Thursday, October 2! The "cash and carry" store—we're talking smaller items for kitchen, bath, work, travel—will be in a dedicated space within the existing Santa Monica DWR at 332 Santa Monica Boulevard. DWR CEO Ray Brunner describes the section in the release: “DWR stands for Design Within Reach, not just furniture within reach. Tools for Living extends the ready availability of design to items associated with everyday use. In many ways it can be simply described as a modern general store." And though a complete aluminum desk set will run you $418, there are items as low as under $10, making Tools for Living much more within reach.
