For those of us with Carrie Bradshaw-level shoe obsessions (but also a love that extends beyond Manolos), LA's dearth of store options is no secret. Still, the climate has been improving with the arrival of additions like Twenty Two Shoes (although out went Robert Clergerie on Robertson). Now the pot just got sweeter, as accessories-heaven TenOverSix (also numerically named) is set to open later this month at 7427 Beverly Boulevard.
We snuck up on the 2000 sq. ft. space, which is ultimately meant to be evocative of an art gallery inside with stripped down clean decor and bold sculptural pieces like the rainbow pompom (Koosh?) we caught a glimpse of from the window. Helmed by shoe designer Kristen Lee and cohorts like husband and LUXE city guide writer Joe Cole, stylist Gina Correll, Resurrection vet Brady Cunningham and Williamsburg, Brooklyn partner store The Future Perfect, the boutique will carry designers like Rachel Comey, Alexander Wang, Comme des Garcons and Martine Sitbon. Also expect vintage pieces and even a full-service salon in the back. If the shoe fits . . . [Racked Wire]
