Michelle in Thakoon's floral Radzimir kimono dress from pre-spring 2009 via All the Rage; a pre-spring 2009 dress in the same print from Thakoon
As if Michelle Obama hadn't already cemented herself as the most fashion-forward (potential or actual) First Lady in nearly half a century, last night she chose to wear a dress from young NYC deisgner Thakoon Panichgul's pre-spring 2009 collection. The floral Radzimir kimono dress, accessorized with a trio of Erickson Beamon broaches at the neckline, was an unconventional choice, as FWD notes "political women often sport the likes of Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera." The masses will become even more aware of Thakoon come December when he launches a collection for Target. All the Rage points you to a floral frock currently available from the designer, which runs $1,250.
