Sellebrity: Justin Timberlake Increasingly Giving Face Time to William Rast

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Not only has Justin Timberlake become the subject (along with model Erin Wasson) of the latest William Rast ad campaign, but now he will be performing at his label's New York Fashion Week runway show next month. The singer will also put on a show for Fashion Rocks on September 5. WWD notes that Timberlake showed his collection at LA Fashion Week back in October 2006, but "the collection never took off and Timberlake, along with his business partner-childhood friend Trace Ayala, decided to scale back. Last fall, Marcella and Johan Lindeberg were named creative directors of the line, and the first effort was shown off during a presentation in February in New York." Will Timberlake's added face time translate to increased sales? We'll have to wait on that one, but our guess is this concert-slash-runway-show will be standing room only, and the star will be Justin and not a pair of ultra skinny jeans.
